Join us and Dr Neil Hunt, Principal Consultant of Advanced Materials at Yordas Group (UK) for a seminar on nanomaterials in REACH. Also available on Teams.

Abstract:

The REACH regulation has an impact on all chemical substances, mixtures and materials manufactured, imported and used in the EU. It is recognised that nanomaterials are a form of a chemical that may have a different physicochemical, toxicological and ecotoxicological profile to other forms of the same chemical. It was recognised that the original requirements of the regulation was difficult to apply in its entirity to nanomaterials, meaning that the regulation was updated in 2019 to include nano-specific obligations within the framework of the regulation. Whilst this has clarified some concerns it has given industry obligations that are not always transparent and obligations that might not be possible to meet with currently available techniques. This seminar will discuss these uncertain situations and how EU-funded research is attempting to address them.
