Itoro Abraham
PhD studentResearch Overview
Researcher in AI Ethics at Lancaster University, specialising in the ethical and socio-technical implications of artificial intelligence in postcolonial contexts. My research examines algorithmic colonialism, data governance, and the political economy of AI, and advances contextually grounded frameworks for equitable AI development in the Global South. I have presented at leading international conferences, including ECIS, AMCIS, and UKAIS, and have peer-reviewed work accepted for publication, with additional manuscripts under review at ABS-ranked journals. Alongside my research, I contribute to teaching through inclusive, research-led pedagogy and draw on prior professional experience in business intelligence and operations management to bridge theory, practice, and policy.
